How to fix Error 1327

Symptoms –

When you try to install Office 2000 from an administration point, you may receive an error message similar to the following

Error 1327. Invalid Drive: Drive

NOTE: This error message most frequently refers to drive U, but this may vary.

Cause - 

This behavior may occur if a registry key contains an incorrect value in a Data field.

Resolution -

To resolve this behavior, enter the correct value data for the registry key. To do this, follow these steps.

Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.   1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. In Registry Editor, locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
  4. In the right pane, note the values in the Data field of each entry. If any value contains a drive that is not correct for your computer, right-click the entry, type c:\my documents in the Value data box, and then click OK.
  5. Repeat step 4 for each entry whose Datavalue contains an incorrect drive.
  6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each of the following registry keys:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
  7. Close Registry Editor.
  8. Install Office 2000.

FIX: “Error #1234 in remotizeviews” Using SQL Upsizing Wizard

Symptoms –

When upsizing a database that has local views, when the views are being remotized, the following error may occur:

Error #1234 in remotizeviews(0). Subscript is outside defined range
 
Status -
 
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This bug has been fixed in Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 3.

 
More Info -

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. In the Upsizing Wizard for SQL Server Step 1, select a database with a local view, and then choose Next.
  2. In the Upsizing Wizard for SQL Server Step 2, select a SQL Server datasource suitable to use for upsizing, click Next and then select login.
  3. In the Upsizing Wizard for SQL Server, select the tables on which the local views are based, click Finish, and then click Finish again.

NOTE: This does not occur with every local view that is upsized.
